Greek Roots and Latin Stems Posters
That’s why I’m excited to share my simple posters with you! {Printable color and blackline are included as well as a link to Google Slides.} These can be displayed on a wall or hole-punched and included in a notebook for learners to refer to.
Each poster contains:
- The root or stem
- The meaning of the morpheme with an image
- Words learners may encounter in their reading to show the root or stem meaning

Note: A root or stem is often the main meaning part of a word. Greek roots come from the Greek language while Latin stems come from Latin. In general, Greek roots are more flexible than Latin stems, as Greek roots can be used as prefixes, the main part of the word, and as suffixes. Latin stems are generally only used as the anchor or “base” of the word.
