This is Unit 3 of Learn to Read Bundle Pack, a reading curriculum designed with short vowel family words and sight words! Unit 3 covers short i word families. If your learner needs work on just short i words, this pack is just what you need.

But, if you’d like to start at the beginning, you’ll want to also purchase Unit 1, short a word families and Unit 2, short o word families.

Unit 3 includes four short i lessons that last five days each. The download includes a 5-day lesson plan for each lesson, but there is complete flexibility with using these activities. Some young readers may need to spend even more time on the lessons and that’s okay, too! There are plenty of activities included so you can modify it as needed.

A Look at Each Lesson from Unit 3:

Each lesson* has 25 or more activities that center around a different short i word family and beginning sight words. All activities come in color and black/white! Most of the activities are NO PREP and easy to implement. Only a few basic teaching supplies are really needed to teach with it.

*Note: the fourth lesson for short i is a little bit different, as it includes word family and sight word review and extension activities, too!

• Lesson 1- IG word family / sight words: two, three {60 pages}
• Lesson 2- IP word family / sight words: she, what {60 pages}
• Lesson 3- IT word family / sight words: they, are {61 pages}
• Lesson 4- word family review / sight words: out, have / PLUS: sight word review activities & short i extension activities {94 pages}

*All readers/lessons include review sight words, which come from Unit 1 of Learn to Read, Unit 2 of Learn to Read, and Reading the Alphabet.
