Do you teach kids who have a hard time knowing what to include {or omit} when they retell a story? If so, this ice cream-themed story retelling pack is a fun resource! The acronym S.C.O.O.P. {as in ice cream scoop} will help kids know the important elements that need to be included in a story retelling.
Description
This SCOOP Story Retelling Pack called, What’s the SCOOP?, is such a fun way to help kids know what they need to include when they retell a story! Based off of the acronym S.C.O.O.P., kids will have a visual reminder when it’s time to retell.
Note: This is part of my Retelling Bundle Pack for Fiction & Nonfiction.
S.C.O.O.P. stands for:
- Setting – WHEN and WHERE the story takes place
- Characters – WHO is in the story? {usually people or animals}
- Oh no! – There’s a problem!
- Order of Events – retell the events of the story in order
- Problem Solved – How is the problem solved or fixed?
Included in this 60-page pack are:
- SCOOP retelling charts {with and without images}
